The Investment Management practice group at Foster Garvey is seeking to hire an associate with one or more years of experience working with institutional investors and an LL.M. in Tax. The associate will join a team of well-qualified attorneys and paralegals that provide highly effective and sophisticated counsel on a broad range of traditional and alternative investment transactions to public and private pension funds, high-net-worth individuals and family offices, private and public endowments, universities, sovereign entities, and insurance companies. Candidates located in Seattle will be considered for the position.

Our diverse and dedicated team represents many of the country's largest and most well-established institutional investors. With experienced practitioners who have been working together for many years, this team represents more than 40 public pension funds, including four of the most significant funds in the United States. The Investment Management practice is cross-disciplinary, and our team members often collaborate with other core practice groups in the Firm, resulting in one of the most active investment management practices in the country.

The ideal candidate will be able to process large, complex documents, possess excellent attention to detail, manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously, be an effective communicator and negotiator, and be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently. The candidate should expect to develop a business and investment skill set.

Job Requirements:
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • At least 1 year of investment management, investment fund, fund formation, or other related experience;
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school, license to practice, and an LL.M. in Tax;
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical and writing skills;
  • A client service approach and exceptional communication skills;
  • Enthusiasm to work both as part of a diverse team and independently;
  • The ability to manage significant individual responsibilities;
  • Experience working on and managing multiple projects at once;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Salary Range:
The annualized salary range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
