Description:
About the role:You'll handle a wide variety of matters, including copyright infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, breach of contract, shareholder disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, and other commercial disputes. Our practice includes both state and federal litigation, with opportunities to work on high-profile cases involving emerging legal issues in entertainment, technology, and artificial intelligence.
This is a hybrid litigation and transactional role. In addition to handling active litigation, you'll draft and negotiate agreements, advise clients on legal risks, and work to resolve disputes informally before litigation becomes necessary. You'll collaborate closely with our team to develop practical legal strategies that protect our clients' interests while minimizing unnecessary costs and business disruption.
What You'll Bring:
- At least 4 years of litigation experience (REQUIRED) (preferably with some courtroom experience and a deep understanding of the rigors and uncertainties of litigation);
- Continued active admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state (or the District of Columbia) bar;
- Experience with intellectual property issues (e.g., copyright, trademark, and/or trade dress infringement);
- Experience in business and commercial litigation, (e.g., breach of contract and business disputes);
- Experience drafting substantive motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and discovery motions);
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business, intellectual property, and entertainment-related agreements (watch Top Music Attorney on YouTube to learn more about our role in this area); and
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to independently manage matters, develop litigation strategies, and efficiently manage time and firm resources.
- Our FIRM VIBE:
- People Matter. You'll love being here because of the people, the opportunities to learn, and our commitment to professional development. We take the work seriously but not ourselves. We value creativity and a strong sense of humor.
- Plenty of Opportunities for Personal and Professional Growth. You'll work alongside some of the top entertainment attorneys in the nation, which will help you grow as an attorney and as a person.
- Ownership, Kindness, and Unimpeachable Character are Firm-Wide Essentials. The buck stops with each of us. We take accountability seriously, support one another, and strive for excellence in everything we do. Our clients' interests are paramount.
- We're remote and flexible, but highly connected. Between daily check-ins, strategy huddles, and virtual watercooler conversations, you'll probably see your coworkers more than your neighbors. You'll have extreme flexibility over where and when the work gets done, as long as it gets done well and on time.
Perks:
- Competitive compensation based on experience;
- 401(k) matching and paid time off for full-time employees;
- Fully remote (part-time OR full-time) and flexible work hours; and
- The opportunity to build your attorney brand through our media channels! Check us out on all social media platforms @TopMusicAttorney and @DelgadoEntertainmentLaw.
