Schwabe currently has an opening for a full-time Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney in either its Portland, Oregon or Seattle, WA offices. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of IP litigation experience
  • Experience in patent litigation-related research and motion drafting, including claim construction and dispositive motion practice
  • Demonstrated aptitude in managing independent projects within a team environment in a fast-paced litigation practice
  • Experience taking depositions and managing fact and expert discovery
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Strong client service skills and ethics
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work hard in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence
  • USPTO admission and a technical background are a plus but are not required; however, the applicant needs to be able to understand and explain complex technologies
  • Strong work ethic and client service acumen, excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Interest in one or more of Schwabe's industry groups
  • Oregon or Washington State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity is required

The pay range for this position is $165,000 - $200,000, depending on job skills and experience. The position is also eligible for discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year. In order to cultivate our collaborative culture and better serve our firm clients, most lawyer positions at Schwabe require in-person work in our offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility on Mondays and Fridays to work offsite.
