Job Summary:We are seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 2 to 5 years experience. The ideal candidate will handle pre-suit and litigation cases, prepare pleadings, correspondence, reports and discovery through finality of case . Must have excellent computer and writing skills, ability to multi-task, and knowledge of Westlaw, Outlook, Wordperfect, and preferably, Time Slips. Salary is negotiable and depends on experience. We offer health, life, and AFLAC insurance. We match up to 3% of salary for Simple IRA.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients and carriers in insurance defense cases, including pre-suit matters for financial affidavit and preservation of evidence demands.
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, discovery and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Prepare for and participate in litigation proceedings, including depositions and court appearances.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure effective case management.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Florida , Federal Court a plus .
- Experience in insurance defense.
- Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting.
- Familiarity with legal research in Westlaw.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced law office environment with strong organizational skills.
- Prior experience in insurance defense litigation is highly desirable.
