Description:

Five on Fifty Financial Services is seeking an experienced and highly motivated In-House Legal Counsel to join our team and serve as a trusted legal advisor to the company and its leadership. This role will provide legal support across a broad range of corporate, financial, transactional, and operational matters. The position will have significant responsibility for managing ongoing legal projects, supporting EB-5-related documentation, reviewing agreements, coordinating with outside counsel, and helping the company navigate complex legal and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate is a practical, business-minded attorney who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of projects from beginning to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary in-house legal resource for Five on Fifty Financial Services and its leadership.
  • Provide day-to-day legal guidance on corporate, financial, operational, and business matters.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
  • Oversee EB-5 documentation and related legal matters, including coordinating with internal teams, outside counsel, and other professionals.
  • Take ownership of outstanding legal projects and ensure timely completion of required documentation, filings, agreements, and deliverables.
  • Assist with corporate governance, entity management, and general corporate matters.
  • Review and advise on business transactions, partnerships, vendor agreements, employment matters, financing documents, and other commercial arrangements.
  • Identify potential legal and regulatory risks and provide practical recommendations to company leadership.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with outside legal counsel when specialized legal expertise is required.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with monitoring applicable laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain organized corporate records, contracts, legal files, and documentation.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives, transactions, and special projects as requested by executive leadership.
  • Help establish and improve internal legal processes, policies, documentation, and compliance procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with in-house, corporate, financial-services, transactional, or business law experience.
  • Experience with litigation and documentation preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, corporate law, and general business matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound legal and business judgment.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with executive leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

The Ideal Candidate will be more than a traditional legal advisor. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted business partner to Five on Fifty Financial Services and provide practical, solutions-oriented legal guidance. This person should be proactive, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership of matters without requiring extensive oversight. They should be able to identify potential issues early, communicate complex legal concepts clearly, and work collaboratively with leadership and outside professionals to move projects forward. Experience working in a financial-services environment, with EB-5 matters, investment-related documentation, corporate transactions, or other highly regulated industries is a strong plus.

Location & Work Environment
This position is based in Greenville, South Carolina, with the flexibility to work fully remote with occasional in-person meetings.
