About Us:
We are an established general practice law firm handling traffic, personal injury, and criminal defense. We are expanding into immigration and are hiring an attorney who can run immigration matters independently while also supporting our existing general practice caseload.

Position Summary:
This role is ideal for a self-directed attorney who:
  • has real immigration experience (not just exposure),
  • is fluent in Spanish (required),
  • and can comfortably handle a mix of general practice matters, including traffic, PI, and criminal defense.

You will be our go-to immigration attorney and play a key role in building this practice area within an established firm.

Responsibilities:
Immigration (Primary)
  • Manage immigration cases independently from intake through filing and resolution
  • Conduct consultations, develop case strategy, and communicate clearly with clients
  • Prepare and file immigration applications/petitions and supporting evidence
  • Draft affidavits, cover letters, motions, and supporting documentation
  • Track deadlines, maintain organized files, and ensure compliance with filing requirements

General Practice (Ongoing)
  • Handle or assist with traffic matters
  • Assist with personal injury and criminal defense matters as needed (appearances, drafting, client communication, negotiations depending on experience)

Case Management
Use SmartAdvocate for case management (required)

Requirements (Must-Haves)
  • Attorney license in [NY] (in good standing)
  • Spanish fluency (spoken and written) — required
  • Immigration experience — must be able to handle immigration matters on your own
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload in a fast-paced general practice environment
  • Strong writing, organization, and client communication skills
  • Experience with or willingness to work daily in SmartAdvocate

Preferred:
  • 2+ years of immigration experience
  • Court appearance experience (traffic/criminal)
  • Ability to help shape processes as we grow our immigration practice.
