An Austin Immigration Attorney seeks an experienced fully bilingual (English-Spanish) Immigration Attorney to consult with and onboard new clients to An Austin Immigration Attorney. The primary responsibility of the Immigration Attorney is to ensure that their clients' cases are handled competently. To meet that goal, the Attorney must set the legal strategy, troubleshoot any problems that arise, and generally handle the legal matters for each client's case in a competent and professional manner with an emphasis on an exceptional client experience. This is a remote-first workforce role open to Texas residents.

Work Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally must be able to lift 15 lbs.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a strong advocate for immigrant rights
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the broader efforts of the team and organization
  • Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of clients and argue motions
  • Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients
  • Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels
  • Counsel associates to resolve or prevent conflicts

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • A law degree (JD or LLM) from an American Bar Association-accredited school is required.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas, and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as an Immigration Attorney.
  • Able to work independently while handling multiple files
  • Applicants must have trial, mediation, and arbitration representation experience
  • Member of state and local bar associations in good standing
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills
  • Four-year bachelor's degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school
