Description:
Position Summary:The Immigration Attorney is responsible for providing legal representation and counsel to clients in immigration matters. This position involves preparing and reviewing immigration applications, representing clients before immigration courts and agencies, and ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations. The Immigration Attorney will work closely with legal assistants, paralegals, and other staff to provide high-quality legal services and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients in immigration matters including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, waivers, removal defense, naturalization, asylum, and other immigration benefits.
- Prepare, review, and file immigration petitions and applications with agencies such as the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- Conduct legal research and stay informed of updates in immigration law, policies, and procedures.
- Review case files prepared by paralegals and legal assistants to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with clients regarding case progress, documentation requirements, and legal strategies.
- Attend client consultations and develop appropriate legal strategies for each case.
- Maintain accurate and organized case records while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and ethical obligations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient case management and workflow.
- Participate in community outreach, legal education, and pro bono initiatives when applicable.
