An Immigration Attorney, an immigration law firm based in Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking an attorney keen on making a difference in the lives of immigrants and their families. We have an extensive immigration court and US Citizenship and Immigration Service caseload, and we are looking for a candidate passionate about providing opportunities for immigrants, able to handle a broad and complex array of cases, with the skills to be an effective advocate before immigration judges and officials.

We have provided immigration legal services to citizens of over 85 countries. Our predominant clientele is Hispanic and an English-Spanish bilingual attorney is an essential skill.

Current Virginia Bar license would be an asset.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide bilingual (Spanish-English) legal advice and representation to immigrants and their families from various cultures, customs and with an endless variety of situations, seeking opportunity in this country .
  • Demonstrate strong, interpersonal client relationship skills to build the trust of clients and to draw out the best in every case
  • Skillfully manage a significant caseload before immigration courts, USCIS immigration agencies and state and federal courts hearing immigration-related cases. You must have a strong interest and a genuine talent in representing clients and trying and presenting cases.
  • Be able to manage our court and agency representation teams as needed (paralegals, law clerks and administrative staff).
  • Legal research and drafting of briefs, motions and appeals

Qualifications:
  • Active member of a state bar; Virginia bar membership is preferable given Virginia state court hearing opportunities related to immigration.
  • Prior attorney experience in a law firm or agency for a minimum of 1-4 years
  • Must willing to handle significant caseload.
  • Native fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
