Who You Are:The Immigration Attorney II position is a critical part of the CCILS team. This role will provide direct legal services to individuals and will supervise CCILS support staff.
What You Will Work On:
- The Immigration Attorney II position will provide direct immigration legal services to low-income individuals, which may include:
- Providing legal consultations and representation.
- Representing clients before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in cases, including but not limited to; family-based petitions, waivers, consular processing, U Visas, VAWA self-petitions, T Visas, Adjustments of Status, Asylum, DACA, and Temporary Protected Status.
- Representing clients in removal proceedings in Immigration Court.
- Coordinate legal volunteers, interns, and externs and provide supervision.
What you bring:
Education, Certifications, and Licensure Requirements/Preferences
JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to bar in any state.
Experience Requirements/Preferences
- 3 years of experience practicing immigration law, preferred.
- Outstanding leadership skills with 1-2 years supervisory experience showing progression (Preferred).
- At least one years' experience managing social service-related programs, including experience with staff supervision, program development, and budget management.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
