Great opportunity to become part of FitzGerald Law Company, a boutique Boston firm, concentrating primarily in immigration law and criminal litigation. We are seeking an attorney, licensed to practice in Massachusetts, fluent in Spanish, with three or more years of immigration law experience. We service the immigrant community in all areas of immigration, including family and employment based residency, all types of non-immigrant visas, citizenship, asylum, cancellation of removal, I-601 waivers, TPS, writ of mandamus, immigration complications due to criminal charges, and immigration appeals.

Responsibilities include:
  • Meeting with potential clients for consultations and follow up with documentation for client to retain firm
  • Manage large caseloads and independently manage multiple tasks utilizing our practice management and immigration software (MyCase and Docketwise)
  • Represent individuals in immigration and criminal matters, before USCIS, EOIR interviews, and Immigration Court as needed
  • Timely prepare immigration petitions and keep track of all next actions and deadlines on assigned cases
  • Provide guidance to paralegals on assigned cases, including monitoring case progress, reviewing work and setting case strategies
  • Conduct legal research and prepare and file appeals, motions, memorandums, briefs, opinions and petitions before administrative and federal courts;
  • Conduct preparation meetings with clients before interviews and court appearances
  • Write and prepare I601A waivers and other inadmissibility waivers
  • Keep clients informed of case progress and keep records of all communications
  • Work closely with Principal attorney to establish the best strategy on cases and prepare and attend status reports meetings
  • Keep daily records of client communications, documents, notes and time related to cases via timesheets in our case management software
