Bolour / Carl Immigration Group, a full-service immigration firm with nearly three decades in Los Angeles, is hiring an Associate Attorney to handle our family-based and asylum docket. This position starts immediately.

This is a hands-on practice. You will run your own cases from intake through approval, work directly with your clients, and have partner support behind you. SUPPORT —There are two paralegals in the Office to assist with filings.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare and file family petitions (I-130), adjustment of status (I-485), and consular processing through the NVC
  • Prepare and file affirmative asylum applications (I-589), build country conditions evidence, and prepare clients for asylum office interviews
  • Handle VAWA self-petitions (I-360) and U visa petitions (I-918), including law enforcement certification requests
  • Draft waivers: I-601, I-601A provisional unlawful presence, I-212, and 212(h) and 212(i) filings
  • Handle T visas, SIJS, removal of conditions (I-751), and naturalization (N-400)
  • Interview clients and draft the declarations that carry the case
  • Respond to RFEs and NOIDs, and appear with clients at USCIS interviews
  • Manage your own docket and deadlines
  • Occasional EOIR work — master calendar hearings and defensive asylum.

What We Require:
  • J.D. and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar. California admission is not required — immigration practice is federal, and we welcome applicants admitted in any U.S. state.
  • Minimum 2 years of family-based and asylum immigration experience
  • Direct experience with several of the following: affirmative asylum, VAWA self-petitions, U visas, and waiver practice
  • Ability to interview clients about difficult personal history with care, and to turn those interviews into persuasive declarations
  • Strong written advocacy and meticulous attention to filing detail
  • Preferred: consular processing and NVC experience, SIJS and state court predicate orders, T visas, EOIR familiarity.
