Job Description:Job Purpose or Objective(s): Health Care related Attorney who will provide research and legal advice to health care professionals of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. You will report to the Director.
Mon-Fri 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Primary Tasks:
- You will research the intent of laws and judicial decisions and applies the law to the circumstances.
- Work on unusual or complex problems and provide solutions.
- You will negotiate contractual agreements and provide legal advice to avoid legal liability.
- Provide legal representation to the Nation in all requested and required legal and liability areas.
- You will manage the case management of in-house matters.
- You will be advising operational leaders, clinicians, and executives on legal and regulatory risk.
- You will be drafting, reviewing, and negotiating healthcare-related agreements, including physician employment and professional services agreements; vendor, technology, and managed services contracts; affiliation, joint venture, and value-based care arrangements.
- You will be supporting compliance programs, internal investigations, regulatory investigations and audits, and fraud and abuse investigations.
- Prepare, negotiate, review and advise on work pertaining to contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments on behalf of the Nation.
- Provide guidance to lower-level Attorneys.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law by a State within the United States.
- Ability to handle a variety of legal fields and procedures.
- Minimum Six [6] years' experience as an attorney in the health care field.
- Experience advising operational leaders, clinicians, and executives on legal and regulatory risk.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating healthcare-related agreements, including physician employment and professional services agreements; vendor, technology, and managed services contracts; affiliation, joint venture, and value-based care arrangements.
- Experience supporting compliance programs, internal investigations, regulatory investigations and audits, and fraud and abuse investigations.
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare legal and regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA/HITECH and patient privacy laws; Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act; Medicare/Medicaid certifications, reimbursement, and compliance requirements
