What You'll Do:

Lead and manage a high-performing legal team focused on trading (spot and derivatives), lending, and staking-related legal matters.
Coach, develop, and support attorneys with diverse specialties in digital trading products and DeFi, ensuring strong individual performance and cohesive team collaboration.
Drive the team's strategic direction in alignment with company goals and evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.
Foster a culture of ownership, initiative, and collaboration across legal and cross-functional teams.
Serve as the point of escalation and resolution for complex legal issues managed by the team.
Provide senior-level guidance and hands-on support in negotiating high-value, complex agreements including ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs, token purchase agreements, staking agreements, liquidity arrangements and structured loan agreements
Offer legal advice on evolving regulatory regimes in the digital asset space.
Liaise closely with product, operations, risk, trading, credit, and compliance teams to assess legal risks and ensure alignment.
Represent A Technology-Driven Financial Services & Investment Management Firm in external discussions, including with regulators, counterparties, and external counsel.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have meticulous attention to detail and a demonstrable ability to produce quality work product in a fast-paced, high-volume environment;
A strong foundational knowledge coupled with a passion for the blockchain space.
JD from an accredited law school and member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
10–12+ years of legal experience, including substantial in-house experience or a combination of top-tier law firm and crypto-native in-house roles.
Knowledge of digital assets, trading, lending, DeFi protocols, staking and token structuring.
Demonstrated success leading legal teams or mentoring senior attorneys in high-growth, fast-paced settings.
Expertise in negotiating and reviewing a broad range of agreements, including ISDAs, purchase and sale agreements and loan documentation.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional leaders and C-suite executives.
Strategic mindset combined with operational pragmatism.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus points:

Deep knowledge of the regulatory treatment of digital assets.
Strong background in traditional finance and the ability to apply those legal concepts to digital assets.
