Position Overview:The Head of Legal and Title Resolution will be responsible for managing default legal and title matters for the mortgage servicing team at CMG, including the oversight of outside default counsel, management of routine litigation and title, performance of legal document execution, and corporate witness responsibilities. This role requires substantial knowledge of property title, mortgage default, litigation, including experience and understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape specific to mortgage servicing. The candidate is expected to support the establishment of a safe, automated, and efficient operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Coordinate on the development, design, build, and maintenance of the Legal and Title Resolution processes within the larger servicing ecosystem.
- Proactively manage all routine litigation (with outside counsel), including oversight of compliance, budget, strategy, discovery responses, settlement negotiation and trial preparation for cases involving default loans.
- Property and title issue resolution, including partial release claims, liens, insurance and property description disputes.
- Testimonial document review and execution.
- Corporate witness responsibilities, including court appearances, settlement negotiations, and mediations.
- Oversight of the Default Attorney Network, including compliance reviews, performance measures, issue resolution, remediation measures, communications, and quality assurance.
- Establish measurable performance objectives and process improvement goals to minimize overall losses and risks.
- Ensure compliance with State, Federal, Regulatory, and Investor Requirements and guidelines, maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal policies and procedures, and understand how requirement changes impact the operation.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet established standards and guidelines regarding compliance, job knowledge, quality, attendance, efficiency, initiative, and overall performance.
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the duties and related processes described, ensuring that key performance metrics meet or exceed budget and projected performance expectations.
- Other projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least (3) years of default legal experience related to mortgage servicing.
- At least (2) years of litigation experience.
- At least (3) years of Property and Title experience.
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing platforms like: MSP, LoanServ, LPS required.
- Attorney or Paralegal training/license or commensurate experience required.
- Knowledge of consumer protection laws & regulations impacting mortgage servicing.
- Experience in navigating high-risk environment.
- Highly organized, reliable, and results-driven.
- Ability to adapt quickly and thrive working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to convey information clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to engage with directors and managers to achieve goals and objectives.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:
This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.
Base Compensation Information – Annual salary of $92,000.00 to $110,000.00
