An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company is seeking a highly motivated attorney to lead a corporate center of excellence in government contracts, including providing general legal and compliance advice for An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company's operating companies (“OpCos”), setting minimum standards, developing policies and conducting investigations, disclosures, and audits. The candidate will report to the VP, Global Trade and will work closely with the Compliance, Legal and Operational teams. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has previously negotiated contracts with the U.S. Federal Government but has at least 5 years of experience in a compliance role and is now looking for a role that would allow them to leverage that experience for creating corporate policies, conducting internal audits/investigations and is ready to advise and educate various businesses of their obligations under the FAR/DFARS and other regulations. To be successful in this role a candidate will need to have exemplary soft skills and be able to proactively issue spot while maintaining collaborative relationships with the various individuals responsible for government contracting at An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company's OpCos.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to government contracting that are comprehensive for the various agencies, products, and offerings from An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company's OpCos.
  • Train and educate employees on government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Design and implement a government contracts audit program to ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct internal assessments at a regular cadence of An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company's OpCos to ensure compliance with U.S. Federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Oversee any disclosures or communication with the U.S. Federal Government relevant to An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company's OpCos.
  • Provide legal guidance to An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company and the OpCos on compliance related to FAR, DFARS, NIST, CMMC, FedRAMP and other regulations.
  • In collaboration with the CIO InforSec and Trade Compliance teams, advise An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company and OpCos on data security requirements set forth by government agencies, such as DoD, BIS and DDTC, including compliance with EAR, ITAR, CUI and CDI technology control.
  • Support An American Diversified Industrial Technology Conglomerate Company and the OpCos in maintaining compliance with DCSA facility and personnel security clearance requirements, by establishing a corporate security program, advising on requirements set forth by NIST and overseeing security clearance processes.
  • J.D. required.
  • Admission to, and in good standing in, any state bar in the United States.
  • 10+ years of directly transferable experience advising clients on U.S. federal government contract compliance matters.
  • Experience in advising and translating compliance requirements of the U.S. federal government to various companies, industries, and business units in a clear and effective way.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FAR/DFARS and federal inter-agency contracting processes.
  • Experience working with companies to comply with security clearance requirements.
  • Experience working with and advising IT functions on data compliance requirements established by USG regulations.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all levels of management and government agency personnel.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be nimble and adaptable to a variety of legal questions and concerns.
