Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including general liability and medical malpractice. Responsibilities:
- Manage a broad spectrum of insurance defense cases, including personal injury, general liability and medical malpractice.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions and briefs.
- Attend depositions, court conferences and mediations.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to achieve favorable resolutions for clients.
- Maintain detailed case files and ensure timely compliance with all procedural deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, witnesses, and experts to facilitate case progress and foster trust.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in general & commercial litigation, personal injury law, or insurance defense work.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, legal motion preparation, and trial preparation techniques.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw; excellent legal writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong client communication skills; ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and professionally.
