Responsibilities:

Defend clients in a broad range of general liability and/or professional liability matters
Investigate claims and defenses, analyze liability and damages, and develop case handling strategies
Conduct legal research and analysis
Draft letters, memos, motions, and pleadings
Prepare discovery requests/responses and take/defend depositions
Represent clients at court conferences, hearings, mediations, and trial/arbitration
Communicate regularly with partners, associates, paralegals, clients, and opposing counsel
Meet a 1,850 annual billable hours requirement

Skills & Requirements:

Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
Current California Bar admission in good standing
3+ years of experience with general liability and/or professional liability litigation
Excellent writer with strong attention to detail
Effective oral communication skills
Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and responsiveness
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of current California state and federal court procedures
Comfortable handling court appearances; experience with depositions and mediations required
Trial experience preferred but not required
