The Role:
As a General Lawyer on our team you will be part of A Spin Off Company Cybersecurity, Privacy, Data & AI Legal team (“CPDA Legal”), a global cybersecurity, privacy, data, AI and regulatory legal team spread among the U.S., U.K. and four (4) EU countries and supporting a dynamic global business.

The role would suit a candidate that has an international outlook and ability to interact with legal and business colleagues around the globe on a variety of cybersecurity, privacy and regulatory matters. Specifically you'll be responsible for:
  • Working on a wide range of cybersecurity, privacy and related regulatory matters in connection with the company's business, specifically related to: 1) Incident Response and Investigation, 2) Cybersecurity and Privacy Operations, 3) Regulatory Compliance and 4) Developing Policy & Strategy
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to business teams, including members of the Chief Information Security Office (CISO), the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), and relevant Global Practices, as well as members of the global legal department
  • Manage and lead multi-stakeholder incident investigative teams and provide proactive advice in a creative and business-centric way.

An ideal candidate will have some understanding of existing and emerging global legal and regulatory developments relating to cybersecurity and data privacy and be genuinely interested in developing expertise in the increasingly important fields of cybersecurity and data privacy. To be successful in this role you'll have the following experience and skills:
  • JD from an accredited law school or equivalent international law degree
  • Licensed to practice law in applicable jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of legal experience, either in-house, with a law firm or a combination of both
  • Strong analytic skills and project management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work as part of diverse and multi-cultural teams comprised of legal and business colleagues
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience & skills:
  • Understanding of European and/or international cybersecurity, data security and privacy, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cyber resiliency principles, laws or policies
  • Experience in the IT, outsourcing, managed services provider or cloud computing industries
  • Incident response experience
  • Relevant experience and/or a degree in the engineering, software, computer science and/or digital forensic fields
  • Additional language skills
