Job Summary:General counsel:
The Santa Monica Rent Control Board is accepting applications for the position of General Counsel. Applicants must be admitted to the California State Bar and have a minimum of 7 years' experience in the area of rent control or housing. Litigation experience, including appellate practice and administrative writs of mandate, and experience advising public bodies regarding open meeting laws such as the Brown Act is required. Experience in FPPC and conflicts of interest laws required. Desirable experience includes familiarity with employment law and attorney supervision.
