Role Overview:
As General Counsel, you will be a trusted strategic partner and the company's primary legal advisor to senior leadership, guiding a global organization that values integrity, collaboration, and innovation. You'll work closely with executive leaders across Sales, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Human Resources in the US, Mexico, UK, Poland, and Australia to shape commercial partnerships, negotiate meaningful agreements, and deliver practical, business-focused legal advice that supports growth and operational excellence.

In this highly visible, hands-on role, you'll lead the continued development and strengthening of legal processes, compliance programs, and risk management practices that enable sustainable success.   • Support Sales and Procurement teams by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating customer and vendor agreements while helping to build a comprehensive commercial and legal strategy for existing and new services (including the revision and preparation of new form agreements). This task will also involve evaluating and restructuring current agreement templates to streamline the contract review process.
  • Support Operations teams in multiple jurisdictions by addressing day-to-day business issues and concerns that relate to customer and vendor contractual obligations and general legal/regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Provide legal support and guidance to HR teams in multiple foreign jurisdictions and coordinate with external employment counsel to ensure that the company is compliant with all applicable labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal support and guidance to the Real Estate by reviewing and negotiating lease agreements, amendments, and other related documents.
  • Lead and manage legal projects that involve issues related to Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, or Corporate matters and drive cross-functional efforts to completion.
  • Research, interpret, and analyze applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidelines that impact business operations and commercial relationships specifically with respect to cross-border operations and transactions and freight management.
  • Conduct legal research and fact investigations in connection with disputes and litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel as needed on certain legal matters.
  • Provide practical and strategic guidance to business teams in a way that advances the company's business interests, minimizes risk, and protects the company's reputation.
  • Develop and implement various legal templates, forms, processes, and applications to keep up with business growth and improve the delivery and scalability of legal resources to a global client base.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house setting dealing with sophisticated and complex commercial matters.
  • Experience working for a manufacturer or distributor of consumer packaged goods or for a company that provides supply chain services is preferred and would be considered a significant advantage.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including experience structuring and drafting new contract templates for existing or new products/services and facilitating business deals.
  • Experience managing commercial litigation matters and routine customer and vendor business disputes, labor and employment matters (internally and in coordination with external employment counsel) and subsidiaries and overseeing annual legal entity compliance obligations.
  • Knowledge of M&A and IP.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to provide succinct advice to senior management.
  • Experience and comfort working with and advising clients combined with an interest and passion for learning the business at a macro and micro level.
  • Internal/external customer centric with excellent negotiation skills and diplomacy, including ability to build consensus, to encourage, motivate and influence at all levels of the organization and with respect to our customers, vendors, and partners.
  • Sound business judgement skills combined with the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver that enjoys navigating complicated and nuanced issues but that can remain focused on routine and mundane matters.
  • Resourceful and proactive individual who understands what it means to be a team player and who is adept at understanding what can be managed independently versus what issues need to be brought to the attention of the senior management.
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish with ability to speak to and understand business issues is a significant advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to travel to other company locations on an as-needed basis.
  • Position works ONSITE 5 days per week.
  • JD from an accredited US law school with active membership in at least one U.S. bar.
