The Leading Developer of Mission Critical Solutions for Next Generation Space Infrastructure has a current opportunity for a General Counsel based at The Leading Developer of Mission Critical Solutions for Next Generation Space Infrastructure's office in Chantilly, Virginia. The General Counsel will provide direct legal counsel and support to the Board of Directors, CEO and senior leaders across The Leading Developer of Mission Critical Solutions for Next Generation Space Infrastructure. This position provides leadership on the execution of day-to-day operations including dispute resolution, public company governance, regulatory compliance and complex transaction management as The Leading Developer of Mission Critical Solutions for Next Generation Space Infrastructure continues on its exciting growth trajectory.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide counsel to leadership on legal strategies to identify, prioritize and address risks facing the company worldwide.
  • Represent and advise the company the company on high-complexity/high-impact engagements with governmental, regulatory and commercial counterparties.
  • Manage concurrent high-stakes litigation matters and other disputes to successful resolution.
  • Direct the utilization and refinement of the company's enterprise risk management framework.
  • Retain, direct and review the work of outside counsel as necessary.
  • Direct functional area support of public company corporate finance and investor relations initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to US and international government and commercial contract law, regulatory reporting, export controls, labor and employment across the company worldwide.
  • Model compliance with and accountability for compliance with company policies; oversee the uniform and compliant application of progressive discipline procedures company-wide.
  • Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of corporate governance policies and procedures across the company group.
  • Direct the development and implementation of scalable processes and systems within the legal functional area.
  • Support the systematic identification and protection of the company's intellectual property.
  • Provide executive leadership and guidance to broader corporate legal team.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Ideal Experience:
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-Accredited law school, and an active member in good standing of a state bar.
  • At least 8+ years securities/corporate law experience at a major law firm and/or as an in-house legal counsel.
  • A minimum of 5 years managing all aspects of public company governance and regulatory activities.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace or other equally technical and manufacturing intensive industry
  • US citizenship and a Secret Security clearance or ability to obtain one required.
