Standard Job DescriptionThe position provides legal support to the Tactical Missiles line of business, as well as all staff functions, regarding a wide range of transactional and compliance matters. The Tactical Missiles line of business has responsibility for several major missile programs, including the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), the Guided Missile Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), and the Hellfire Missile.
Major transactional responsibilities include:
- General commercial contract law advice
- Government procurement law advice
- Negotiation of subcontract terms and conditions as required
- Business Area advice on government contract litigation, protests, and disputes
- General Federal and state law questions
- Domestic and international teaming agreements
- Organizational conflict of interest (OCI) issues
- Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs)
- Creation and implementation of firewall agreements
This attorney must demonstrate superior judgment and work product for matters of significant complexity. This attorney must also be a self-starter and able to work semi-autonomously. Outstanding organization, client management, and written and verbal communication skills are essential. This attorney may also provide training and/or serve as a mentor to colleagues.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience working in a law department and currently admitted to practice law in the U.S.
- Demonstrates full spectrum leadership competency
- Must have the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience with the Department of Defense customer
- MBA
- In depth knowledge of artificial intelligence legal tools
- Practical experience working with Lockheed Martin's subcontracts and familiarity with the LM CorpDocs
- General understanding of international treaties and Agreements impacting the MFC business area
