Description:
Equal Management Group, is seeking an experienced Franchise Law Attorney to provide legal counsel and support for matters related to franchise compliance, operations, and strategy. This contract role offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for a highly skilled attorney with a deep understanding of franchise law and business structuring.Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and update Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and Franchise Agreements.
- Advise on compliance with the FTC Franchise Rule and state-specific franchise laws.
- Provide legal guidance on franchise registration and regulatory requirements.
- Support negotiations and dispute resolution between franchisors and franchisees.
- Consult on franchise structuring, expansion, and business model review.
- Review and draft ancillary franchise documents including area development and master franchise agreements.
- Stay updated on legal trends and policy developments related to franchising.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in franchise law or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating franchise-related legal documents.
- Strong understanding of federal and state franchise laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.

- Experience advising both emerging and established franchise systems.
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property, business structuring, and licensing law.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
