Equal Management Group, is seeking an experienced Franchise Law Attorney to provide legal counsel and support for matters related to franchise compliance, operations, and strategy. This contract role offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for a highly skilled attorney with a deep understanding of franchise law and business structuring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and update Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and Franchise Agreements.
  • Advise on compliance with the FTC Franchise Rule and state-specific franchise laws.
  • Provide legal guidance on franchise registration and regulatory requirements.
  • Support negotiations and dispute resolution between franchisors and franchisees.
  • Consult on franchise structuring, expansion, and business model review.
  • Review and draft ancillary franchise documents including area development and master franchise agreements.
  • Stay updated on legal trends and policy developments related to franchising.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in franchise law or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating franchise-related legal documents.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state franchise laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience advising both emerging and established franchise systems.
  • Strong knowledge of intellectual property, business structuring, and licensing law.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
