About the role:
As the Fractional General Counsel on A Business Advisory Firm's Administrative and Compliance team, you'll contribute to the success of our national operations by providing hands-on support and executing work that enhances our shared services and firm-wide capabilities. As a seasoned attorney who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working closely with executive leadership, you'll provide legal support across our organization to shape legal strategy, safeguard compliance, and mitigate risk. What You'll Do:
  • Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts to proactively protect and advance company interests.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks across diverse business operations, enabling confident decision-making.
  • Drive multi-state compliance initiatives and provide expert guidance on employment law and regulatory best practices.
  • Deliver strategic legal support on Alternative Practice Structures (APS) in accordance with AICPA standards.
  • Shape and implement internal policies that promote operational integrity and long-term legal compliance.
  • Empower teams through targeted education on contracts, compliance, and risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with the CAO and paralegal to provide high-impact legal counsel aligned with business goals.

About You:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in one or more of the following states: TX, KS, FL, NY, WA, IN.
  • Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with a strong background in corporate or fractional counsel roles.
  • Expertise in contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Alternative Practice Structures (APS) and AICPA guidelines.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training, and shape internal policy frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently manage legal matters and provide proactive counsel.
  • Looking for an independent contractor; pay will depend upon location and experience.
