Job Description:Cooley is seeking an experienced associate or special counsel to join its Financial Services Regulatory practice. Candidates should have at least five years of experience with sophisticated technology and commercial transactions, with particular experience advising clients in the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency and/or digital assets sectors.
Ideal candidates will have experience drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements, including technology licensing, SaaS and cloud services agreements, strategic partnerships and other commercial arrangements. Experience with transactions involving fintech and digital asset products and platforms – including bank-fintech partnerships, payments, blockchain, cryptocurrency, stablecoins, tokenization, custody or related infrastructure – is particularly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable working with regulatory and corporate lawyers to help clients structure and launch innovative products and commercial relationships at the intersection of technology and financial services regulation.
Candidates should have strong academic credentials, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and client relationships. Experience at a nationally recognized law firm with a technology transactions, fintech and/or digital assets practice is preferred. EOE.
The expected annual pay range for this position is $365,000+. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
