Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is assisting a large financial institution in seeking an experienced Financial Services Litigation Attorney to join its legal team on a long-term, fully remote engagement.

Engagement Details
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: 12+ months; long-term/indefinite potential
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Compensation: Starting at $85/hour, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Workplace Investing legal team on a variety of litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Handle 401(k) participant litigation and related disputes.
  • Respond to and assist with Department of Labor subpoenas and related regulatory matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis and assist with litigation strategy.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Manage assigned matters and litigation deadlines with a high degree of independence.
  • Work closely with internal legal, compliance, business, and other stakeholders to assess and address legal risks.
  • Apply sound legal judgment to complex matters and anticipate emerging issues and business needs.

Candidate Requirements:
  • 5+ years of substantive litigation experience gained at a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Strong, hands-on litigation experience is required.
  • Experience representing or advising financial services companies, broker-dealers, banks, investment firms, or other highly regulated organizations is strongly preferred.
  • ERISA experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with retirement plan, 401(k), or Department of Labor matters is highly desirable.
  • Strong academic credentials and an excellent professional work history.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and anticipate legal and business needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, sound judgment, and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Active U.S. bar admission in good standing.
