Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Family Law Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will advocate for clients navigating complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation rights, and spousal support. Your expertise will help clients achieve fair resolutions while ensuring compliance with all relevant statutes and regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on families during pivotal moments in their lives through skilled legal advocacy and compassionate counsel.

Duties:
  • Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and support disputes, ensuring their rights are protected throughout the legal process
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and stay current on relevant statutes and case law
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court depositions
  • Prepare for and participate in court proceedings, including trial preparation and legal motion hearings
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to reach amicable resolutions that serve clients' best interests
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, gather information, and offer legal counsel during emotionally charged situations
  • Manage multiple cases efficiently using comprehensive legal case management systems while maintaining meticulous records of all proceedings

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Proven experience in family law practice with a strong understanding of procedural law and statutory regulations governing family matters
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, legal advocacy, and courtroom litigation
  • Familiarity with estate planning, employment law, personal injury law, and other related legal fields is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis for statutory and case law analysis
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Strong client communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
  • Prior experience with law office management software and legal motion preparation tools
  • Opportunity to working one of three offices in the region. Greater compensation for those who have an existing book of business. The general expectation is that this position bills 36 hours per week.
