Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law cases, including negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
- Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and court motions
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools like Westlaw to support case strategies
- Advise clients on divorce , child custody arrangements, support and other related legal matters
- Negotiate settlements that align with clients' best interests while maintaining professionalism
- Manage case files efficiently within the law office's organizational systems
- Stay updated on changes in family law statutes, tribal law & regulations, and other relevant legal areas
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction
- Proven experience in family law practice with a strong understanding of litigation procedures
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear, precise legal documents and correspondence
- Strong negotiation skills to advocate effectively for clients' needs
- Knowledge of family law is a plus
