We are a family law firm with 15 locations in North and South Carolina. We are currently looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented Family Law Attorney to join our team in the Lowcountry, where our founder is from originally.

At times, you will also need to know how to figure things out on your own and be able to creatively problem solve and come up with workable solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Help effectively solve legal problems for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and marital settlement agreements, handle the division of marital assets, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to ensure effective representation of clients
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
  • Consult with potential clients to ascertain their needs and decide on the next steps
  • Engage in matter management to ensure timely progress in all cases
  • Confirm all work is consistently quality-reviewed for case law and written content/clarity

Qualifications:
  • License to practice law in South Carolina
  • 4+ years experience working in a law firm on family law issues, with sufficient experience to work independently on certain cases and retain new clients
  • Experience with billing and keeping track of billable time on cases
  • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
  • Team-oriented, flexible, organized, and willing to work across office locations when needed is a plus
  • Self-starter who will take the proactive initiative to complete priorities on a daily basis
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve and come up with workable solutions, figure things out on your own
  • Must be willing to travel locally within Charleston and the surrounding area for mediations, depositions, and court
