This is an opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys practicing family law and wants the autonomy to manage cases strategically without sacrificing professional support or flexibility.
Our practice represents clients through divorce, custody, child support, equitable distribution, domestic violence, adoption, and other family-law matters. We are looking for an attorney who can step into active practice, exercise sound judgment, communicate effectively with clients, and handle matters from initial strategy through negotiation, mediation, hearing, and trial.

What You'll Do:
- Manage a family-law caseload and serve as a trusted advisor to clients during high-stakes personal and financial matters.
- Develop case strategy, conduct legal research and analysis, draft pleadings and motions, manage discovery, and prepare matters for hearing and trial.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to move cases efficiently and provide responsive client service.
- Maintain strong command of North Carolina family law, civil procedure, local practice, and developing legal issues.
What We're Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and an active North Carolina law license in good standing.
- At least 4 years of family-law experience; substantial North Carolina family-law litigation experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated courtroom, negotiation, and dispute-resolution skills.
- Strong legal writing, case-management, client-communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of cases.
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to ethical and compassionate client representation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Adobe Acrobat, and modern law-office technology.
