Now Hiring: Texas Family Law Associate (1+ Years of Recent Family Law Experience)

We're growing! Ramos Law Group, PLLC is looking for a Family Law Associate to join our team in Houston's vibrant Montrose district. This full-time role is a great fit for an attorney with at least one year of recent family law experience who is ready to grow their practice and take on a steady mix of cases up to medium complexity.

You won't be doing this alone. You'll work alongside seasoned family law attorneys, including our founder, Board Certified Family Law Attorney Mary E. Ramos, and you'll have the mentorship, structure, and support to keep developing as a litigator. Important Details:
  • This position will also handle cases in all counties we serve.

Who You Are:
  • Licensed Texas attorney in good standing
  • At least 1 year of RECENT, hands-on family law experience
  • Comfortable handling family law matters of low to medium complexity, including contested hearings, with support from senior attorneys
  • Solid legal research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Comfortable with family law pleadings and Westlaw Form Builder (online version)
  • Growing courtroom presence and a real desire to sharpen your advocacy skills
  • Organized and able to manage a caseload while keeping clients informed and well cared for
  • Sound judgment, a problem-solving mindset, and a willingness to learn
  • Compassionate and professional with clients navigating difficult life transitions

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage family law matters up to medium complexity, from consultation through resolution, with guidance from senior attorneys
  • Handle consultations, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences, and assist on trials as you build toward leading them
  • Develop and execute case strategy on divorce, custody, enforcement, modification, and property division matters
  • Keep clients informed and supported through clear, empathetic, and transparent communication
  • Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver strong client outcomes
  • Take advantage of mentorship and structured professional development to grow your skills
  • Serve as a dependable advocate for clients facing significant family law issues
  • Additional duties as assigned

Bonus Points (Nice to Have):

  • Prior experience as a family law paralegal (this is a big plus)
  • Interest in pursuing Board Certification in Family Law
  • Existing professional relationships within the legal community
  • Prior interactions with Ramos Law Group or Mary E. Ramos

Location & Flexibility:

  • Primarily Houston-based (Montrose), with the option to work out of our Woodlands office for the right candidate.
  • Work from Home Wednesdays, subject to court appearances, mediations, and in-person consultations.
