Our fast-growing, seven-attorney family law litigation firm is seeking a full-time Family Law Attorney to join our dynamic team. We are located in Chicago's vibrant River North neighborhood, steps from the Brown Line L stop.This is a great opportunity for a motivated attorney who wants to grow with a supportive, high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional results for our clients. What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate is experienced in family law litigation, confident in the courtroom, and highly organized. You should be comfortable managing your own caseload while working closely with colleagues and support staff. Strong communication, negotiation, and writing skills are essential, along with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Handle family law cases from inception through resolution, including settlement or trial
- Communicate with clients to explain legal options and guide decision-making
- Appear in court (in person and via Zoom)
- Draft motions, judgments, settlement agreements, pretrial memos, and other legal documents
- Conduct discovery and manage deadlines
- Conduct consultations with potential new clients
Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law litigation
- Proficient in legal research (Westlaw preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active cases
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Clio (preferred but not required)
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
