The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Texas family law, with specific experience handling adoption matters, including private, agency, stepparent, foster care, and international adoptions. We currently have (11) offices in Texas: (2) offices in Houston (Corporate and River Oaks), and (1) office in Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Humble, and will continue to have paralegals in these offices.

Key Responsibilities:
Your role in our mission includes the following responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in all aspects of adoption cases, including initial consultations, filings, hearings, and finalization.
  • Draft and review adoption petitions, agreements, and related legal documents.
  • Advise clients on Texas adoption laws and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the process.
  • Coordinate with adoption agencies, social workers, and state agencies as necessary.
  • Advocate for clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards
  • Provide empathetic and client-centered service to individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with the firm's legal team and support staff to deliver exceptional results.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

What you will bring to the role:
  • Two or more years of practicing adoption law in Texas. Five years of experience is highly preferred.
  • Have a valid Texas bar license for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Strong understanding of Texas Family Code and adoption procedures.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • A passion for conducting hearings and being in the courtroom, and handling Mediations and Consults.
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of TxDoc and Clio OR similar drafting/client management software, MS Office or Google Suite proficiency.
  • Drafting of correspondence, pleadings, and discovery.
