Job Summary:
We are seeking a Family Law Associate with at least three years of experience in Wake County to join our legal team. In this role, you will handle your own caseload and provide counsel and representation for clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution.

Duties:
  • Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters from inception through resolution, including negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to support case strategies
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity
  • Advocate vigorously for clients in court hearings, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution sessions
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients regarding custody arrangements, visitation rights, property division, and support obligations
  • Maintain detailed case records and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements while managing deadlines effectively

Requirements:
  • JD from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing
  • At least three years of experience in family law in Wake County
  • Experience with drafting legal pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions
  • Familiarity with Wake County Local Rules, NC Rules of Civil Procedure, and Chapter 50
  • Experience with drafting Separation Agreements and other family law contracts
  • Litigation experience, including appearing in court for clients in custody cases, child support cases, postseparation support and alimony cases, and equitable distribution
  • Experience with mediations and representing clients at mediations
