Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Family Law Associate to join our growing Gainesville Florida legal team. The ideal candidate will live in Gainesville Florida Area and represent clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, paternity, domestic violence, and post-judgment modifications. This role requires strong advocacy skills, excellent legal research and writing abilities, and a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of family law matters from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice regarding family law issues.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, agreements, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex family law issues.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing deadlines, and ethical obligations.
  • Participate in business development and networking activities to support firm growth.
  • Legal drafting and document preparation
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed in Florida.
  • Experience in handling family law matters
  • Ability to manage a caseload with multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate legal and practical risks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish fluency is a plus).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Reliable, dependable, and capable of exercising sound independent judgment while also working collaboratively in a team environment
