Description:Larkin Hoffman is seeking to add an Associate Attorney to join our Family Law practice group. This successful candidate will work closely with experienced family law attorneys while developing increasing responsibility for client matters involving divorce, custody and parenting time, child support and spousal maintenance, post-decree modifications, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, third-party custody matters, and harassment restraining orders and orders for protection. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of family law or commercial litigation experience, strong written and oral advocacy skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to responsive client service. Admission to practice in Minnesota is required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage family law matters under supervision, including developing case strategy, monitoring deadlines, and coordinating next steps with clients and the supervising attorney.
- Communicate regularly with clients to gather information, explain legal options and procedures, provide practical advice, and report on case status.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations; analyze statutes, rules, case law, financial records, and other evidence relevant to client matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery, settlement proposals, agreements, correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Handle discovery, including preparing and responding to written discovery, reviewing document productions, working with experts, and preparing for depositions.
- Prepare for and appear at conferences, hearings, motion arguments, mediations, depositions, and trials.
- Negotiate resolutions and assist in drafting and finalizing settlement agreements and related court submissions.
- Meet with prospective clients, conduct initial consultations, identify potential conflicts, and assist with matter intake.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, financial professionals, and other experts to provide efficient, high-quality representation.
- Maintain accurate time entries and matter records, comply with firm policies and professional obligations, and participate in practice-group and firm initiatives.

Education and/or Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active license to practice law in Minnesota and good standing with the applicable licensing authority.
- Three to five years of experience in family law or commercial litigation; Minnesota state-court experience is preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines, exercise sound professional judgment, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Experience conducting prospective-client consultations and independently handling hearings, discovery, or settlement negotiations is preferred.
