Basic Function:
The Paralegal Studies Program Seeks an Exceptional Full-Time, Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Member Committed to High-Quality Undergraduate Education and The Advancement of The Paralegal Profession.

Additional Basic Function – if Applicable:
This Position Includes Teaching the Equivalent of Five (5) Three-Credit Courses Each Fall and Spring Semester Within an Aba-Approved Paralegal Studies Program. the Successful Candidate Will Contribute to Program Excellence Through Teaching, Professional Engagement, Student Mentorship, and Active Participation in Aba Approval and Program Development.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential Functions May Include, but Not Be Limited To, the Following:
  • Teach the Equivalent of 15 Hours of Coursework (in-Person and Online Delivery as Assigned), but May in Some Semesters Require Four Three-Credit Courses and Offer the Equivalent of One Course in Paralegal Advising, per Program Coordinator Requirements.
  • Design and Deliver Engaging, Practice-Oriented Course Content that Supports Student Learning and Professional Skill Development.
  • Deliver Prompt, Meaningful Evaluations of Student Work with Relevant Feedback that Supports Learning.
  • Remain Current in Legal Practice and Paralegal Education, the Attendance in Continuing Legal Education and Other Professional Development Seminars, Demonstrating an Ongoing Commitment to Professional Growth.
  • Advise and Mentor Students Regarding Academic, Career, and Professional Development.
  • Participate in Program Meetings, Faculty Committees, University Events, and Other Service Responsibilities.
  • Support and Assist in Ongoing Efforts to Maintain American Bar Association Approval, Including Assisting the Director in Preparing Program Reports, Supporting Curriculum Review, and Participating in Aba-Related Meetings and Initiatives.
  • Foster Strong Relationships with Legal Community Partners and Support Initiatives for Internships, Employer Engagement, and Student Placement.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (jd) Degree and Active Ohio Law License or Master's Degree in Legal Studies or Related Discipline Strong

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light Work-Exerting up To 20 Pounds of Force Occasionally, And/or up To 10 Pounds of Force Frequently to Move Objects. Incumbent Must Be Able to Communicate with Others. Incumbent May Be Required to Travel from Building to Building Frequently and Off Campus Occasionally.
