That's where you come in!We are looking for an energetic Legal Extern who is passionate about gaming to join our Legal team in supporting Wizards' tabletop and digital games!
This position only open to law students in their 2L or 3L year of school who is interested in pursuing a career in the games industry. The externship is a part-time hybrid position (up to 10 hours per week) during the school year.
What You'll Do:
- Work with a team of attorneys and legal professionals to navigate the ever evolving world of gaming.
- Conduct legal research, and document drafting on a broad array of legal matters and projects, which could include areas of antitrust, advertising, data protection and privacy, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, licensing, rights of publicity, business, gaming, and entertainment. Undertake projects related to these areas.
- Collaborate with business teams and apply legal principles, analysis, and drafting skills to support internal partners regarding complex legal issues in the digital entertainment space.
- Learn, utilize, and further develop legal operations and process management techniques, technologies, and practices, including with respect to document structure, drafting standards, contract lifecycle management, and legal information technology.
What You'll Bring:
- Available to work in-person at our Renton, WA office location for the entire duration of the externship.
- A passion for learning, quality and exploring the games industry.
- Prior class work in subjects of intellectual property, entertainment law, commercial transactions or business law preferred.
- Prior work experience in legal environment or industry preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Self-starter who is results-oriented and exhibits responsibility, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
- The ability to quickly adapt to an ever-changing environment.
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and open to stretching outside of your comfort zone.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload.
