Our practice focuses primarily on family-based immigration, removal defense, detained cases, and humanitarian immigration matters, including VAWA, U visas, T visas, asylum, waivers, adjustment of status, and other immigration-related applications and proceedings.

We are seeking an Experienced Bilingual Immigration Attorney (Spanish/English) to join our Coral Springs office. This position is ideal for an attorney with demonstrated experience practicing immigration law who is comfortable appearing in Immigration Court and before USCIS, independently managing cases, developing legal strategies, drafting legal documents, and providing strong advocacy and client service.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that our clients receive effective legal representation and that cases are prepared accurately, thoroughly, and in compliance with applicable immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.

Position Overview:
The attorney will be responsible for representing clients throughout various stages of their immigration matters, including case strategy, preparation, filing, hearings, interviews, and follow-up.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in removal defense, Immigration Court proceedings, detained cases, bond hearings, and USCIS matters.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage an assigned caseload, exercise sound legal judgment, provide direction to paralegals and support staff, and take ownership of the quality and accuracy of the cases assigned to them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients before U.S. Immigration Courts (EOIR) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Manage an assigned caseload and provide appropriate legal strategy and oversight throughout the life of each case.
  • Attend and represent clients at Master Calendar Hearings, Individual/Merits Hearings, Bond Hearings, and other immigration proceedings.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, petitions, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Review USCIS filing packages before they are mailed or submitted to ensure that each package is complete, accurate, properly supported by evidence, and in full compliance with the requirements applicable to the specific type of case being processed.
  • Identify missing documentation, inconsistencies, potential issues, or deficiencies in USCIS packages and provide direction to paralegals and legal support staff to correct them before submission.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and apply relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and agency guidance to individual cases.
  • Develop case strategies based on the client's immigration history, goals, eligibility, and available evidence.
  • Conduct detailed client consultations and interviews to identify relevant facts and potential forms of immigration relief.
  • Prepare clients for Immigration Court hearings, USCIS interviews, and other immigration-related proceedings.
  • Review and analyze evidence and identify additional documentation or information necessary to strengthen a case.
  • Draft persuasive legal arguments, declarations, motions, briefs, and other supporting documents.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding case status, legal strategy, expectations, and next steps.
  • Work closely with paralegals and legal support staff to ensure cases are prepared accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Provide legal guidance, direction, and feedback to paralegals and other support staff regarding case preparation.
  • Review work prepared by support staff and ensure that legal documents and filing packages meet the firm's quality standards before submission.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, deadlines, and documentation within the firm's case management system.
  • Ensure that all filings and client matters comply with applicable court and agency deadlines and requirements.
  • Monitor case deadlines and take appropriate action to prevent missed filing dates, hearings, interviews, or other critical deadlines.
  • Stay current on changes in immigration law, regulations, policies, procedures, and relevant case law.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and sound judgment when working with clients facing complex and sensitive immigration matters.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Florida.
  • Prior experience practicing U.S. immigration law is required.
  • Demonstrated experience representing clients before Immigration Court and/or USCIS.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage an assigned caseload.
  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and strong client-service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff.
  • Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn and utilize case management and legal software.

Preferred Qualifications:
The following experience will be considered a strong advantage:
  • 2+ years of substantive immigration law experience.
  • Experience handling removal defense and deportation defense cases.
  • Experience appearing before EOIR/Immigration Court.
  • Experience handling detained immigration cases.
  • Experience conducting Bond Hearings.
  • Experience handling Master Calendar and Individual/Merits Hearings.
  • Experience with asylum and other humanitarian forms of relief.
  • Experience with VAWA, U visas, T visas, SIJS, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, family-based immigration, and waivers.
  • Experience with I-601, I-601A, and I-212 waivers.
  • Experience drafting motions, legal briefs, declarations, and other complex legal filings.
  • Experience independently managing a substantial caseload.
  • Experience reviewing USCIS filing packages and providing legal quality control.
  • Prior experience working in a high-volume immigration law firm.

Compensation:
$80,000–$100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's immigration law experience, courtroom experience, legal writing and advocacy skills, ability to independently manage cases, and overall qualifications.
