Why This Role?
Mulembo Law PLLC is a growing Tucson firm built on Excellence, Authenticity, and Respect. We are bringing on our third attorney as we expand our team and our capacity to serve clients across Arizona. This is a deliberate, well-structured growth, not a reaction to chaos, and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of building something intentional from the ground up.
Your caseload will be primarily family law. If you are tired of being stifled in a large office or waiting for trial opportunities that never come, family law gives you more courtroom time than most practice areas. We are in court. Regularly. We also welcome practitioners with an estates, trust, or guardianship background as we develop those practice areas within the firm.
One thing that sets us apart: we aggressively pre-screen every client before onboarding. That means you spend your time on cases worth taking, with clients who are aligned with the process. You will not be handed a mess you did not create.
If you want real courtroom experience, direct and honest feedback, and a firm that moves fast and works well together, this is the opportunity for you.
What you will do:
- Handle family law matters from initial case strategy through resolution, including divorce, legal separation, child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, and modifications
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, evidentiary proceedings, and trials throughout Arizona
- Draft and argue motions, prepare memoranda and briefs, and ensure all filings meet applicable rules and standards
- Conduct legal research and develop sound case strategy
- Provide clients with clear, honest legal advice and represent them with professionalism and compassion
- Negotiate settlements and counsel clients through complex, emotionally sensitive situations
- Collaborate with paralegals and staff to move cases efficiently and maintain strong client service
- Contribute to firm process improvement; we welcome attorneys who see workflow gaps and say so
This role is anchored in family law; family law experience is a firm requirement. Candidates who also bring an estates, trust, or guardianship background are strongly preferred, as we are actively building out those practice areas within the firm.
Work Structure
This role follows a hybrid model. Court appearances and client meetings are conducted onsite. Trial prep, drafting, and case preparation may be completed remotely when appropriate. Office presence is expected for collaboration and team coordination.
Our Values:
Excellence, authenticity, and respect guide how we practice and work together. Authenticity means respectful directness. We communicate clearly, address issues early, and hold each other accountable in a deadline-driven environment. We coach to performance and support growth at every level.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Arizona Bar admission in good standing
- Demonstrated family law experience, including courtroom appearances and hearings; family law experience is required
- Estates, trust, or guardianship background is a strong plus and actively preferred
- Strong commitment to advocacy and client service
- Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
- Reliable, professional, and organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Self-motivated and interested in building a career within a growing firm
- Ability to travel for court appearances throughout Arizona
