We're looking for an experienced and naturally warm immigration attorney with impeccable Spanish to join our team.

Must Haves:
5+years of experience in family-based immigration, naturalization, acquired/derived citizenship, consular processing, waivers, humanitarian/survivor immigration (T/U visas, VAWA), asylum, and removal defense.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced (5+ years) Immigration Attorney to join our dynamic team at the Law Office of Erika N. Salter, P. C. This position is crucial for advocating for our clients' rights and navigating them through their legal challenges effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with litigation, research and case representation.
  • Represent clients in immigration court and USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw and other relevant databases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and organized files.
  • Provide legal administrative support, including scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
  • Support the firm's immigration law practice, including preparing immigration petitions and applications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective and efficient legal representation.
  • Participate in case strategy meetings and provide input on legal matters.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling all cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including motions and briefs.
  • Litigate cases in court as necessary, presenting compelling arguments.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and options throughout the process.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed in any jurisdiction in the United States
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with legal administrative tasks and processes
  • Proficiency in using Westlaw and other legal research tools
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on client advocacy.
  • Proficient in legal research methodologies and case analysis.
  • Experience in immigration law is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, in both English and Spanish as well as written and verbal.
