Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and experienced Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator, skilled in building strong client relationships, and passionate about helping individuals plan for their future and protect their loved ones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design customized estate plans that align with each client's unique goals, family dynamics, and financial situation, including the preparation of wills, trusts, and other essential planning documents.
- Advise clients on Medicaid planning, long-term care, and asset protection strategies
- Represent clients in probate and estate administration matters
- Stay up to date on changes in elder law and estate planning legislation
- Participate in client education and
- community outreach events
- Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure high-quality client service
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Iowa
- 3+ years of experience in estate planning and elder law preferred
- Strong knowledge of probate, Medicaid, and trust administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong willingness to network with other professionals
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism in dealing with clients and team members
- Ability to manage multiple client matters with attention to detail and deadlines
- Proficiency with technology
- Ability to follow proven firm procedures and policies
- Experience with Real Estate and Corporate Law preferred
