If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing skills who can work full time. As our estate planning attorney, you will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for our clients and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. - Consult with clients on business law, employment law, and estate planning needs
- Draft estate planning documents
- Research and draft memorandums of law for partners on various business law matters
- Attend law firm and community networking events
- Present on Estate Planning topics to community and groups
- Strategize with Partner on how to build efficiencies in law firm management
- Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for your clients
- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
- Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
- Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
- Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
Qualifications:
- Experience with Clio Manage and Clio Grow, Wealth Counsel, Calendly, and marketing
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
- At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on on estate planning and probate law issues is necessary
- Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Working knowledge of title insurance, wills, trusts, property management, and residential and commercial real estate law, including litigation
