Description:If you are an MN-licensed attorney who values client relationships, solving complex problems, and working comfortably with high-net-worth individuals, this position is for you. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with some knowledge of estate planning and business law who is able to work onsite 5-days a week in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. This position requires a significant level of responsibility to work independently and to meet deadlines. Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients on estate planning and business law needs
- Draft estate planning documents, including complex trusts
- Research and draft memorandums of law for partners on various business law matters
- Attend law firm and community networking events
- Present on Estate Planning topics to the community and groups
- Strategize with Partner on how to build efficiencies in law firm management and growth
- Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for your clients
- Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
- Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
- Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
- Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
Qualifications:
- Experience in estate planning and business law, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals.
- Ability to draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
- Proven track record of effectively communicating and advising clients on asset distribution, retirement plans, and charitable giving.
- Strong analytical skills to understand client needs and strategize appropriate legal actions.
- Capability to work independently and manage a high volume of estate plans while meeting deadlines.
- Experience collaborating with paralegals and senior partners to ensure efficient civil litigation processes.
- Ability to research and draft comprehensive memorandums of law on various business law matters for partners' review and guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
- At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on on estate planning and probate law issues is necessary
- Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Working knowledge of title insurance, wills, trusts, property management, and residential and commercial real estate law, including litigation
