Mathews Law, PLLC is a boutique estate planning firm with a 5-star reputation for excellence and client care. We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney (Of-Counsel) to join our team on a flexible part-time or full-time basis.This position is ideal for a professional who wants to focus on serving clients — not managing administrative overhead.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Life & Legacy Planning Sessions with potential clients to guide them through estate planning options
- Lead Design Sessions to tailor plans based on each client's needs
- Review and approve documents drafted by the firm's drafting team (and lead the drafting for more complex documents).
- Conduct Signing Meetings with clients
- Deliver an exceptional client experience and uphold the firm's 5-star standard
- Participate in process improvement initiatives with the team.
- Ensure that the Mathews Law process is followed for exceptional client service.
- Participate in twice-yearly retreats with the firm.
- Coordinate with the Director of Operations and firm staff.
- Continuously learn to enhance your service offerings for clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active license to practice law in Virginia (preferred Maryland and/or DC also)
- Minimum 2 years of estate planning experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Professional, friendly, and compassionate demeanor
- Team-oriented and open to process improvement and feedback from lead attorney
- Preferred: experience with DecisionVault and Lawcus
- Can-do attitude to contribute to the success of the firm
- Bonus experience in special needs planning, elder law, LLC formation, or estate administration
Schedule:
- 25-40 hours per week (or more if desired)
- Hybrid or remote flexibility
Compensation:
- Percentage-based compensation with unlimited earning potential
