Role Description:
We are seeking an Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney who combines legal expertise with genuine empathy for clients navigating sensitive life circumstances. This role requires a balance of professional excellence, clear communication, compassionate client care, and a strong desire to help people in various life circumstances.

You will work closely with clients to guide them through estate planning, elder law issues, Medicaid planning, trust administration, probate matters, and protective proceedings. Our clients often face emotionally charged decisions, so a patient, understanding approach is just as important as strong legal skills.

Base salary listed is for first year associate and will be adjusted based on experience. We also have a solid bonus structure.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide counsel and draft legal documents for wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, and other estate planning needs.
  • Guide clients through elder law matters including guardianships and conservatorships, long-term care planning, and asset protection.
  • Educate and support clients with sensitivity and respect for personal circumstances.
  • Stay current on relevant laws and regulations to provide accurate advice.
  • Manage caseload efficiently while maintaining a high standard of client service.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in Estate Planning and Elder Law (or a strong desire to learn these fields).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build trust quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar (Washington or other State Bar in addition to Oregon is a plus).
  • Experience in client management and case management software is a plus.
