Description:Our expanding law firm is looking for an experienced estate planning and elder law attorney. We require a highly analytical applicant with excellent negotiation and organizational abilities who is available to work full-time. You will prepare documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney as our estate planning attorney. This role carries a great deal of responsibility and seeks to eliminate questions regarding how an estate should be managed. Our ideal candidate will have extensive estate planning knowledge, be a qualified attorney, and have excellent written communication abilities. Please apply if this describes you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Medicaid planning and long-term care planning
- Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
- Draft and file wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
- Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
- Consult clients about your plans for distributing their assets
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on on estate planning and probate law issues is necessary
- Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
- Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
