Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies across various practice areas
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, and discovery requests with precision and clarity
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witness depositions
- Support attorneys during court depositions and hearings by taking detailed notes and managing case files
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, provide updates, and clarify case details
- Manage case files using legal case management software to ensure timely document handling and compliance with procedural laws
- Participate in negotiations on behalf of clients under supervision to develop strong legal advocacy skills
Skills:
- Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw platforms
- Excellent legal writing and drafting abilities for motions, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence
- Knowledge of procedural law and courtroom procedures relevant to civil litigation
- Effective negotiation skills demonstrated through client or mock negotiations
