Entry-Level Associate Attorney

An established AV-rated trial law firm with offices in Fairfax and Prince William County is seeking an energetic Entry-Level Associate Attorney who wants to learn how to litigate and try cases.

Our practice focuses on personal injury and civil/business litigation, including complex and catastrophic injury cases involving traumatic brain injuries, amputations, serious orthopedic injuries, trucking and commercial vehicle accidents, wrongful death, and other life-changing injuries.

This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants to learn, develop real litigation skills, take on increasing responsibility, and grow with the firm.

Learn to Be a Trial Lawyer

You will work directly with experienced trial attorneys and clients and receive hands-on experience throughout the life of a case.

Depending on your experience and development, your responsibilities will include:

Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery;
Interviewing and preparing clients and witnesses;
Taking and defending depositions;
Working with medical, financial, and other expert witnesses;
Conducting legal research and developing case strategy;
Handling discovery disputes and motions practice;
Participating in mediations and settlement negotiations;
Appearing in court for motions and other proceedings; and
Preparing cases for and participating in trials.

We are not looking for someone who wants to spend the first several years of practice performing the same narrow assignment. As your abilities grow, your responsibilities will grow with them.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on significant cases involving serious injuries and substantial damages while learning directly from attorneys who regularly litigate cases in Virginia courts.

Qualifications:
Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar. Experience working in or familiarity with Virginia courts is preferred.

Admission to the District of Columbia and/or Maryland Bars is a plus but is not required.

Exceptional recent law school graduates awaiting Virginia Bar admission may also be considered, provided they intend to practice in Virginia.
