Description:
We are searching for a senior associate or counsel with at least six years of tax equity transactional experience at a national law firm. Substantive work skills should include tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease and sale-leaseback transactions, equipment safe harbor transactions, and tax credit transfer transactions along with experience providing counsel in substantive Federal tax credit matters and providing written advice. We prefer candidates with experience working in sectors such as wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, and/or EV charging. While the ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing project developers and sponsors, investor-side lawyers interested in retooling for a primarily sponsor-side practice are encouraged to apply.The selected candidate will work directly with the leader of our energy tax team and will be provided with ample opportunities for client contact and transaction management. The selected candidate will also work in close collaboration with other elements of our project finance practice, including lawyers providing corporate, debt and securitization input. This position will be situated in the firm's energy and climate solutions group, a large, industry-focused team of corporate, commercial, regulatory and project finance lawyers working both with established independent power producers and with emerging technology companies in the storage, carbon capture, enhanced geothermal, modular fission and fusion sectors.
Preferred location is San Francisco, but we also will consider candidates in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
The compensation range and benefits for this role are described below.
Salary range of $390,000 - $435,000, based on year classification.
